start credit applicationThe year is almost over, but the good news and awards keep coming in until 2020 rings that bell. With that in mind, the many organizations and businesses that review vehicles all-year-long, that means there will still be “Best of” lists to read about, especially when in the market for a new vehicle. One of those organizations is CarBuzz, well-known in the industry for providing consumers with plenty of free information and research, such as industry news and reviews, that can help someone in the market make a more informed car buying decision. Recently, CarBuzz wrapped up its 2020 Awards and we know several of the finalists very well - Chrysler, Dodge, Mercedes, Nissan, Chevrolet, and Kia.
Like any good “Best of” list, vehicles competing for the top three finalists list are test-driven by CarBuzz members of staff. Some vehicles were either on week-long loan or part of first-drive events, and after plenty of testing, finalists were selected for each of the ten categories for this awards list. These include People’s Car, Family Fun, Save the Planet, Off-Road Warrior, Tech Lover’s Dream, Surprise of the Tear, Poster Car, Family Luxury, Best Interior, and Track Weapon. Each winner was chosen based on its merit and how well it fit the needs of the category for which it was competing.
"This year has been filled with an impressive number of vehicles that substantially moved the game forwards in the respective segments…The 2020 Awards were the toughest yet, with our writers and editors spending hours debating the merits of each finalist before finally selecting the winners…But after a lengthy process of evaluating the vehicles throughout the year and debating their merits, we are proud to announce the winners of each category." - Roger Biermann, CarBuzz Managing Editor
The 2021 Kia K5 sports that we’re a little psyched about won over the People’s Car segment. We bet that has something to do with all the cool stunt ads Kia Motors America put together for the K5. Wouldn’t you know, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica won the Family Fun award. For those looking into a vehicle filled with the latest auto tech, take a look into the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63. The Poser Car of this competition was the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette, a constant classic. The 2020 Nissan Sentra took home the “Surprise of the Year” award.
Other awards, Save the Planet Car, went to the 2021 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. Called a “Family Luxury” car, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade took this place, followed by the 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost for the Best Interior. Lastly, the Track Weapon award goes to the 2020 Lotus Evora GT. All-in-all, it was a pretty good turn out for all automakers present.
