The improved towing capacity is the result of chassis changes. These upgrades now allow the insertion of the max tow package, increasing the max-tow rating to 13,300 pounds for 2022 Chevy Silverado models with a two-wheel-drive configuration.

Keep in mind, all 2022 Chevrolet Silverado trims implemented with four-wheel drive and the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gain an improved and somewhat absurd increase from the previous year; a 13,300-pound max towing capacity that is nearly 4,000 more pounds. Additional engine options include the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, which now generates 20 percent added torque, and the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 powertrain option. For owners that opt to gain either of these two engines have small max tow rating discounts with the 2022 model year refresh. The main reason for the change has to do with some of the weight removed from the vehicle to improve the performance.

More Perks and All the Bells and Whistles Granted For the 2022 Silverado

Further updates with the latest 2022-model-year refresh include a completely restored interior, which is implemented on LT trim levels and above. The new interior stars one of the largest touchscreens added inside a pickup with the breathtaking 13.4-inch color touchscreen and standard 12.3-inch configurable instrument cluster. These impressive tech options now include GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving assist on each High Country trim, as that trim gains assisted trailering perks as well. For owners that want the most of safety features, they can be happy Chevrolet granted its Chevy Safety Assist as a standard feature on all enhanced trim levels (all vehicles higher than the 2022 base trim). The exterior was also reviewed and revamped, while the trim options gain the new ZR2 off-roader, which is outfitted with front and rear e-lockers, Multi-matic DSSV dampers, and an increased ride height.
