40 years ago, automaker Chrysler introduced the minivan to the world and the auto industry. Before then, station wagons were the only option for large families, although not very safe for passengers in the rear. Everything changed when Chrysler entered the game, and for more than 40 years and six generations, the automaker relied on the Town & Country model before flipping the market again with the Chrysler Pacifica. A new minivan that has been ever so popular since its release, Chrysler has made a hybrid variant, split up the lineup for more accessibility, and after the addition of all-wheel drive (AWD) for more traction and control on various road conditions, the newest installment is meant to be the ultimate family travel vehicle - the new 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Road Tripper.
Built off of the Pacifica Touring L, the Chrysler Pacifica Road Tripper comes with an assortment of changes on top of what this model already offers. Donning new Luster Gray Road Tripper graphics outlined in Brilliant Orange, the minivan comes with semi-gloss Granite Crystal Chrysler wing badges on the front grille and rear liftgateand semi-gloss Granite Crystal accents the front fascia and grille trim, all outlined in that Brilliant Orange highlight. Riding on 20-inch wheels (18-inch wheels on the Hybrid), this minivan package offers best-in-class towing capabilities of up to 3,600 pounds due to the included Trailer Tow Group. For additional storage, the Pacifica Road Tripper model features a roof rack compatible with a variety of Mopar carriers, such as bicycle and cargo carriers, and comes with Mopar all-weather floor mats that help to protect the interior from rain, mud, snow, and other debris. Basically, this “road trip” vehicle sounds more like a minivan designed for adventure off the road.

The above features are in addition to all the Chrysler Pacifica minivan already offers. This includes Stow ‘n’ Go seating and seat compartments, the Stow ‘n’ Vac vacuum, more than 115 standard and available safety and security features, and Uconnect 5 infotainment system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen as a standard. Uconnect Theater with Amazon Fire TV is available for additional rear entertainment, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto make it easy to stream music for the road ahead. When it came time to name the new minivan package, “Road Tripper” was chosen based on polls Chrysler hosted on its various social media channels, along with imagery of families using the Pacifica on a road trip. It’s a bit on the nose, but it’s also four decades of history.
Available on the Touring L for the regular gas-powered Pacifica and the Pacifica Hybrid, there are three MSRPs for the add-on package. The Pacifica comes with front-wheel drive (FWD) standard, and for this trim, the package starts at $2,395 (plus destination fee). If choosing the Touring L with AWD, the MSRP starts at $2,095 (plus destination fee), and on the Pacifica Touring L Hybrid, the MSRP for the package starts at $1,495 (plus destination fee). Orders are said to start in the first quarter of 2023 with vehicles arriving in dealerships in the spring of 2023. The 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Road Tripper is available in three exterior colors: Bright White, Brilliant Black, and Ceramic Gray.
