Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has improved their standing among J.D. Power in their latest Initial Quality Study. The 2019 Power U.S. Initial Quality Study has the Dodge brand improving their initial quality by 8 percent, moving from 11th overall to 8th. The Dodge Grand Caravan has finished second in its segment and the Jeep Grand Cherokee is third in their respective category. Overall, Dodge led all FCA brands and earned its highest rating ever. No Stopping Dodge

Among the FCA vehicles, the Dodge Challenger placed first in the Midsize Sporty Car segment. Also, the Dodge Grand Caravan came in second in the Minivan segment. Both vehicles are exemplary choices for their respective segments. J.D. Power determines which vehicles are ranked based on the number of problems per 100 vehicles during the first 90 days of ownership. The 2019 U.S. Initial Quality Study included 76,256 purchasers and lessees of new 2019 model-year vehicles. Included in the study is a 233-question sheet that is gathered into eight separate vehicle categories. The study lasted from February 2019 to May 2019.

Among the Dodge brand, it experienced less than one problem per vehicle at a range of 90 problems per 100 vehicles. On the high-end, Jaguar had the highest among the major brands with 130 problems per 100 vehicles. The 2019 Dodge Challenger is not only the ideal muscle car, but it’s also one of the most recognized cars for being well-made with high resale values.

"Dodge continues its leadership position among Midsize Sporty Cars and Minivans by taking first and second place with the Challenger and Grand Caravan, respectively," said Mark Champine, Head of Quality – FCA North America.

Jeep Earns Recognition

Not to be outdone, another proud brand under the FCA umbrella, Jeep earned an award for their Jeep Grand Cherokee. The long-running SUV option earned a third-place finish in the Midsize SUV segment. FCA has gone to great lengths to improve their vehicles with newer technology apart of the interior. The Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with the newest Uconnect infotainment system that makes it easier to reply to texts, play music and more with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. In more recent years, Jeep has added more for customers to embrace without overburdening them with features they don’t want. Soon enough, Jeep will have products that will expand their fanbase by leaps and bounds, but for now, they are doing plenty well enough.

"We're especially proud of the Grand Cherokee's 20 percent year-over-year improvement in initial quality, which was strong enough to put it in the top three among Midsize SUVs. This type of quality improvement reinforces our commitment to Grand Cherokee – the most awarded SUV ever – and to our recently announced $900 million investment at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit, the home of Grand Cherokee." Champine added.
