Many automakers did their part in helping local communities and those in need during the first year of COVID-19. Kia Motors has been connecting with the youth for years, getting involved in music concerts, eSports, and other events. Some automakers are making better use of the technology we have today, like Amazon Alexa and Google Home, equipping some vehicles with smart assistant integration or even skills/apps that will connect to the car from a smart device. When it comes to the fans of an auto brand, aside from buying your favorite model, some people also like to wear the appropriate merchandise, but it can be so hard to find. Not anymore, with Jeep and Dodge on Amazon.com
That’s right – Jeep and Dodge have their very own storefronts on Amazon. Making it even easier to find and buy Jeep or Dodge brand merchandise, it could be a very smart move. Jeep was the first to do this, opening a storefront in November 2020. Unsure what a storefront is? It’s kind of like a ghost kitchen, where the food and resources are there – and that’s it. The rest is up to delivery drivers to bring consumers the food unless it’s a take-out operation. Storefronts are the same thing.
There is no concrete location or even a setup. It looks like a store, it works like a store, but there really is no store. That’s the beauty of e-commerce and selling stuff online. Many retailers have been going on Amazon and eBay to set up shop for years now, so joining the bandwagon isn’t a bad move for automakers looking to get their merch out in front of consumers. When Jeep first opened up, fans were able to browse, shop for, and add hundreds of authentic Jeep brand licensed gear and merchandise – just like anything else on Amazon.
Also like most items on Amazon, the merch was split into the following categories: holidays: New Arrivals, Best Sellers, Featured Collections, Apparel, and Gear. Pretty simple, and now muscle car automaker Dodge is joining the fray, and with no time to spare. The Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock may be the last and most powerful vehicle coming straight from the automaker. With alternative fuel vehicles on the rise, and CO2 emissions standards getting more strict, the legendary muscle car automaker may need to move over and bite the hybrid car bullet.
Before that happens, giving consumers a chance to relish in the heritage, even if not owning a Dodge vehicle, is a smart move. Plus, with Dodge, the Brotherhood of Muscle, and the automaker’s constant involvement with the Fast & Furious franchise, it’s not just muscle car drivers looking to get their hands on some merchandise. Muscle car and race enthusiasts alike can shop for Dodge//SRT lifestyle brand essentials – anything from basic apparel and to things you would find in a man cave. Yes, this includes toys and games, namely those from the Fast & the Furious films. Like Jeep, Dodge has items listed in the same categories for easy navigation of all this sweet, sweet merch.
