Mitsubishi has announced plans to donate 100 million yen (which is roughly a million dollars) towards the COVID-19 crisis. The impact has slowed down everything worldwide and in Japan especially, Mitsubishi has tried to contain the disease with hopes of resuming normal socio-economic activities down the road. The aid will be made towards helping medical institutions to gain essential items like medical masks and additional supplies. While Mitsubishi USA has seen its partner Nissan suffer its first loss in sales for the first time ever in its dealings with the US, they still pledged to donate to help slow down this global virus. Mitsubishi is also looking to see funds go to the children hit by the prolonged closure of schools. 

How Mitsubishi Is Supporting People Stay Safe Globally

The money has been collected by non-consolidated contributions and donations from the Mitsubishi Electric SOCIO-ROOTS Fund. The Fund has gathered donations from Mitsubishi Electric employees that the company matched. This large effort will end with a result of 100,000 N95 masks and a large amount of disinfectant to give to these institutions. The production will take place at Mitsubishi Electric's Manufacturing Engineering Center in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture and Nagoya Works in Nagoya, Airchi Prefecture starting in May 2020. As for Nissan's latest plans regarding its vehicles, they do plan to continue production and offer exciting new options for customers.
