Although it briefly mentioned Dodge Connect and Alfa Connect, Jeep Connect was the main focus of the PR. All the new options coming to Jeep models and the additional freedom to explore and find adventure was a large selling point, calling back the days of the Jeep Badge of Honor program to go off-road and challenge their Jeep and themselves. Well, making its official debut at the 2023 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, we’re seeing more of what these Uconnect 5 connected services can do in the all-new 2024 Jeep Gladiator.
Sure, the Gladiator has been around for a while now, but the upgrades it received to its off-road capability has received an upgrade. More than that, new Rubicon X and Mojave X trims have been added to the lineup, bringing with them a full-time transfer case, integrated off-road camera, and front and rear steel bumpers in addition to the many off-road features like a ground clearance of 11.6 inches, or up to 31.5 inches of water fording. The new tech added to the interior cabin of the 2024 Jeep Gladiator really makes some noise, starting with an all-new 12.3-inch touchscreen – the most advanced and largest display ever offered on the Jeep Gladiator pickup truck.
Powered by Uconnect 5, the Gladiator will be one of the first models from Jeep to be blessed by the new features offered, such as the Jeep Connect Off Road Pages+ Package (already available in the 2024 Wagoneer and Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee). This package comes with Jeep Adventure Guides, giving consumers access to more than 200 off-road trail guides for free, 3000 with an annual membership. Now featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, consumers aren’t tied to a wired connection and can still have an infotainment home screen that mirrors their smartphone and offers quick access to frequently used features.
Jeep knows consumers like to customize their vehicles, and every consumer is different. Some Jeep purchases tend to have more than one driver, especially if it’s a family vehicle. The 2024 Jeep Gladiator comes with five user profiles to save customizable music preferences, apps, seat position, mirror angles, and climate comfort levels. Thanks to the growing partnership between Amazon and Stellantis, an Alexa Home to Car functionality system is integrated into the Gladiator, offering an in-vehicle Alexa virtual assistant with natural voice capability and Car to Home features. It sounds a lot like the smart speaker features some models have added so consumers can control their home Alexa from their car to turn on the lights, change the a/c temperature, or a number of things we can do with Amazon-compatible devices.
Once only offered on Ram models, the Gladiator features SiriusXM 360L platform and Personalized Stations Powered by Pandora. Navigation is even easier with TomTom navigation, able to provide consumer with predictive search, natural voice recognition, and live traffic updates. The Jeep Connect Off Road Pages+ Package also offers GPS Trail Logs so consumers don’t have to worry about losing their Wi-Fi connection, but that won’t be a huge problem with the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot in the new 2024 Gladiator, able to connect up to eight wireless devices.
Now does that sound like a high-tech Jeep or what? Well-equipped to keep vehicle consumers connected while on the road, it even comes with several 12-volt accessory outlets and a 115-volt AC outlet (available add-on) to power select home electronics.
