The Montreal Electric Vehicle Show starts on April 19, 2024. A three-day event that gives attendees a great chance to see, test, analyze, and compare the newest products in the field of electric mobility, whether an automobile or a personal mobility device. This year, Stellantis will be taking over the showcase at Olympic Stadium in Montreal. This year’s display includes electrified Dodge, FIAT, Jeep®, and Ram brand vehicles.
"With six battery-electric vehicles coming to the Canadian marketplace this year, we're thrilled to be part of the Montreal Electric Vehicle Show and to showcase what's coming next to our showrooms…There are Stellantis vehicles to suit every customer's needs on display at Olympic Stadium, from the affordable Fiat 500e to the muscular Dodge Charger Daytona, up to the game-changing Ram 1500 Ramcharger." - Patrice Demers, president of the Quebec Chrysler DAA
The Fiat 500e was reintroduced to the lineup after the Fiat 500 had some of its own shortcomings. All new, the 500e was released as a two-door fully electric vehicle. Powered by a 42-kilowatt-hour (KWh) battery, the 500e delivers about 140 miles. Like many other BEVs, the Fiat 500e can charge in six hours with a Level 2 charger.
Ram and Jeep are two of Stellantis’ strongest brands at the moment, and are known for being pretty innovative when designing new models. Ram Truck introduced the 2025 1500 Ramcharger last year (2023), and will be showing up at the Montreal Electric Show. A new take on plug-in hybrids, the Ramcharger comes with a 92 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery pack, an on-board 130 kW generator, and a 3.6-liter V6 engine. It sounds pretty normal, except the V6 engine is used to power the generator. The driving range hasn’t been released yet, but this sounds like a game changer for keeping BEVs powered and charged.
Dodge has finally given us a real look at its eMuscle with the new electrified 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona model. Powered by a 400V propulsion system, two trims have been tuned to deliver a range of power. The standard Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack comes with a dual electric drive module (EDM) that can generate 335 horsepower (250 kW) and 300 lb.-ft. of torque in the front and rear of the vehicle. The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T is able to generate 496 horsepower for a little more of that supercharged V8 performance. Speaking of which, the Dodge Charger Daytona comes with Dodge Power Shot to deliver an extra boost of horsepower for 15 seconds, 16-inch Brembo High-performance Brakes, a new Brake by Wire intelligent braking system, 20-inch wheels, multi-link front suspension, and dual-valve Semi-active suspension for a smoother ride.
Before the Daytona, our first introduction to eMuscle was the Dodge Hornet. Not officially a part of the lineup, the Hornet doesn’t wear the Fratzog logo, but the Hornet R/T and R/T Plus gave us a good look at what an electrified Dodge muscle car can do. The Dodge Hornet R/T and R/T Plus are powered by a 1.3-liter I4 Turbo PHEV engine, able to generate 288 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds, the Hornet is officially the fastest compact utility vehicle. The interior is stylish with a leatherette/cloth combination standard, leather upholstery on Plus trims, and Uconnect 5 on a 10.23-inch touchscreen.
As we mentioned, Ram and Jeep are the warriors of Stellantis, always pushing the envelope. Jeep was the first to start electrifying its lineup, besides the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, and eventually came out with the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, combining the great off-road capabilities of the Wrangler and adding more precise torque with an electric motor. With an all-electric range (AER) of 21 miles, Jeepers can complete trails with zero-emissions and not pollute the forest. A few years later, the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe was added to the lineup, delivering an AER of 26 miles.
We’re looking forward to all of these models heading to dealership lots. Some of them are available now if you shop for a car online with NowCar. If you want to keep up with Stellantis BEVs and other electrified vehicles, you can always follow along with us on NowCar social media.
