Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has built up the Ram brand quickly earning higher sales figures than General Motors and its Chevrolet brand when it comes to pickups. The Ram 1500 has moved into second-place over the Silverado 1500, just behind the Ford F-150 in terms of sales volume. General Motors (GM) has fallen behind FCA as the reports from the fourth quarter show the continuation of what has happened all of 2019- FCA selling more than 10.1% over GM. 2020 started with FCA and Ram learning the Ram 1500 is up for the 2020 North American Truck of the Year award. The award will be announced on January 13th, 2020 in Detroit, Michigan and Ram hopes to make it back-to-back wins after earning the distinction from the North American Car, Utility, and Truck of the Year Awards. 2019 saw impressive sales figures from both the Ram and Chevy brand, but Ram pulled ahead even further to close the year. Ram sold 703,023 vehicles, a steep 18% increase from 2018. The Ram full-size pickup truck also saw an 18-point rise over last year, with a total of 633,694 vehicles sold. Chevrolet still finished third in overall pickup sales ahead of many brands with their Chevrolet Silverado 1500 still remaining a popular pickup option.
