They talked about the new GT-Line for Kia Motors and the X-Line that will be giving the new next-generation Kia Soul a couple of new ways consumers can get one that fits their lifestyle and personality. To celebrate the new trims, Kia also released a new marketing campaign called “The New Species of Soul”. Driving in the commercial are the 2020 Kia Soul GT, Kia Soul X, and the Kia Soul EX Designer, part of the Designer Collection package. Yes, there’s one more addition to the all-new 2020 Kia Soul.
What Is the EX Designer Collection?
Usually, when an automaker adds a package that adds a little extra flair of sorts to an automobile, they usually aim for a trim low on the ladder. The 2020 Kia Soul EX is the second-to-highest trim in the lineup, next to the GT. A bit of a change, since consumers will already get plenty of great features with the Kia Soul EX in addition to the optional EX Designer package.
All 2020 Kia Soul trims are powered by 2.0-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine able to generate 147 horsepower, but the EX trim comes standard with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). Other standard features include heated mirrors, proximity-key entry, automatic on/off headlights, privacy glass and solar glass, and 17-inch tires. Inside, consumers will find a power driver's seat and automatic climate control. When it comes to technology, the Soul EX also has plenty to celebrate with a rear camera display, a big 10.3-inch touchscreen with a six-speaker system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and active safety features like forward collision avoidance, lane keeping assist, lane change assist, driver attention warning, blind spot collision warning, and rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist.
So what does the EX Designer Collection package add to an already great vehicle? The 2020 Kia Soul EX has a starting MSRP of $22,690 (plus destination fee), and for an additional $1500, consumers can add a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels with black spokes, performance tires, and LED lighting powering the headlights and fog lights. For some extra style, consumers also have the option of a two-tone paint treatment for the roof. Consumers will have the choice of a Gravity Grey/Platinum Gold or Gravity Grey/White paint job. If planning to take the Soul on adventures for an active lifestyle, opting in for some floor mats going for an additional $130 would also be a good idea.
The EX Designer Collection package lives up to its name. Mainly focused on appearances, the main additions give the EX a look that separates it from the already wonderful lineup. If looking for another way to express your individual style when getting behind the wheel of a 2020 Kia Soul, checking out the Designer Collection package is the way to go. Ready to find your own?
